Out of curiosity, a man decided to invent a bicycle that's ridden sideways, and has two handlebars.

Bicycles come in many shapes and sizes, but now there's one you can ride sideways.

Michael Killian, from Ireland, created the unusual bike.

He said while tinkering around in his garage, he wondered what it would be like to build a bike a person could ride like a snowboard.

It was there the "Sideways Bicycle," or, "Snowboard Bicycle," was born.

Like a snowboard, the Sideways Bicycle is able to make sharper turns than a regular two-wheeler.

To ensure the rider won't fall off, the bike seat has the same U-shaped saddle used on unicycles.

This new invention has two handle bars, located on the front and back of the bike, and are used to steer the bike simultaneously.

On riding the bike, Killian said, "It's harder to think about than to ride, and it's human nature to stay upright so you'll pull or push anything to stay upright."

He's been able to ride the bike up to 40 or 50 miles in a day, and believes others could utilize it for commuting.

He believes the bike will appeal most to teenagers, or any one else who wants to draw attention to themselves.

Killian hopes to make his invention available to the public in the near future.
