On Saturday, September 20th, crew members from the Dunmore East RNLI, or Royal National Lifeboat Institution, in Ireland came to rescue of a female cow.

Cows, like other animals, can easily find themselves in predicaments. On Saturday, September 20th, crew members from the Dunmore East RNLI in Ireland came to the rescue of a female cow.

RNLI officials were contacted by the Irish Coast Guard for assistance, as three boaters were thought to be in distress. Their vessel was in close proximity to rocks.

RNLI volunteers rushed to the scene, arriving in about 5 minutes. That’s when the crew learned the boaters weren’t in trouble at all. Instead they were trying to help a cow that was in a sticky situation.

The animal had fallen from a cliff and she was left stranded. The volunteers helped the three boaters save the creature. Together, they set up a rope system and with assistance from the Dunmore East Coast Guard, the kind-hearted group pulled the cow ashore.

Ray Power, of the Dunmore East RNLI remarked “Thankfully the actual call was not as serious as we first thought, but we were glad we could help all the same and bring the cow to safety.”
