Belgian police play down EU attack reports

Belgian police have denied reports that explosives were found in the home of two alleged Dutch jihadists.

They also say they found no evidence of a concrete plan to attack the European Commission.

Officers arrested a Dutch couple of Turkish origin last month at Brussels Airport.

They said materials to make explosive devices were found in a raid in the Netherlands.

The two suspects are still in detention, according to Belgian authorities.

The European Commission declined to comment on the details of the case, saying only that it was unaware of any specific threat against its premises.
