Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says he is happy with his side's "special win" and hopes it is a "new start" after they comfortably beat QPR 4-0 at Old Trafford.
QPR defender Rio Ferdinand made an emotional return to the ground but it was his former side who dominated throughout, with Angel di Maria, Ander Herrera, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata all getting on the scoresheet to record their first league win of the season.
New signing Daley Blind made 112 passes on his debut, the fifth highest total by a player in the Premier League this season.
