A teenager serving a life sentence for killing three high school students has been recaptured less than a hundred metres from the Ohio prison from which he escaped.
T.J Lane, 19, was jailed last year for the attack at Chardon High.
He broke out hours with two other inmates; Clifford Opperud, 45 and Lindsey Bruce.
Lane was arrested without incident and Bruce was also recaptured near the jail.
“I can’t tell you what he was doing, but I can tell you he was captured just about 100 feet from our institution’s main perimeter fence,” said warden Kevin Jones.
The rampage at Chardon High School was one of several mass shootings in the United States last year.
