After days of complaints that authorities weren't doing enough to help flood victims in Kashmir, the Indian army has organized medical camps and stepped up efforts to rescue stranded people.
Medical teams treated the sick and injured, and distributed medicine to contain the spread of any disease.

"Basically, most of the people here are suffering from headaches, colds, fevers and coughs. As of now, there are no signs of any epidemic but the possibility of it happening cannot be ruled out."
The heaviest rainfall in 50 years triggered flooding in India and Pakistan has killed more than 450 people.
