Born and raised from Bukit Tinggi Indonesia, Monika Jufry plunged into the fashion industry around 1998 right after graduating from Bachelors of Economics in Trisakti University and fashion design school Susan Budihardjo. With 3 labels namely Monika Jufry (Moslem wear, wedding and high-end fashion line), Sessa by Monika Jufry and Gusmi Jufry (deluxe ready to wear) that was established in the year 1987 of her mother and lastly; 2Pose (casual moslem ready to wear).
Monika Jufry joined APPMI (Association of Indonesian Fashion Designers and Entrepreneurs) in 2001 and is now active as one of the executive boards. She is also one of the founders of the Hijabersmom Community and serves as a vice chairman. She was once one of the juries for the Esmod Swarovski contest in 2011. She has also been active in the media and on and off air industry. Monika Jufry actively participates in various fashion weeks throughout Indonesia as well as countries such as Australia and France. She was trusted to make a collection of moslem wear with a theme such as "Ramadhan Safari" for first lady Ani Yudhoyono in 2008.
