STORY: U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday for talks during her first visit to the country.

The two shook hands before sitting down to talks at the Great Hall of the People.

She held meetings with China's top diplomat, State Councillor Yang Jiechi on Monday, as well as top military official Fan Changlong and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday morning.
