US President Barack Obama has arrived in Estonia for talks with three Baltic leaders on the subject of Russia and the Ukraine crisis.

He is there to show solidarity with the presidents of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania who have been eyeing nervously events in Ukraine.

While he’s in the capital Tallinn, Obama is likely to send out the message that it is not okay for large countries to violate the territorial integrity of their smaller neighbours.

The three ex-Soviet states which joined NATO in 2004 are pushing for a clear NATO presence in all member countries.

The trip comes ahead of a full two-day NATO summit in Wales where plans for a rapid response force to protect Eastern European members against possible Russian aggression are on the agenda.
