While hearing the petition filed against any possible extra-constitutional steps, the Supreme Court today (Tuesday) issued notices to more than 22 political parties including Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
Meanwhile, the legal counsel of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) excused to present proposals for resolution of the political crisis, stating that the court should intervene in a political issue.
During case proceedings, Chief Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk rejected senior politician Javed Hashmi’s claim of having any direct or indirect affiliation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
The Chief Justice said he met Imran Khan once when he was serving as acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). He said Imran Khan visited his office where they discussed biometric system and subjudice electoral matters.
Explanation will be sought for whatever was shown on the media yesterday, he added.
The case hearing has been adjourned till Wednesday.
