Army denies support to protesters: ISPR
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – In an important announcement Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) denied the claim that the Pak Army and ISPR were backing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf or Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), as they had no role in the current political crisis.
ISPR denied all charges of the impression that the army had any political role in the current political crisis. It added that it is unfortunate how the army has been dragged into this current political conflict because the army is nonpolitical institution, which has unconditionally ‘supported’ democracy at different occasions.
ISPR further stated that army is not backing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) or Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
In the statement, it said that unity and integrity were the hallmarks of the Pak Army, and it prides itself for its stability and unity.
