The meeting betweem former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PM Nawaz has ended.
The PPP and PML-N leaders discussed the ongoing political situation in the country and the anti-government sit-in protests in Islamabad.
Both leaders have agreed that political issues should be resolved through political means, saying that democracy will not be derailed at any cost.
Zardari advised that the dialogues process with the protesting PTI and PAT should be geared up.
Zardari arrived in Lahore, using a special jet on early Saturday. Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik also accompanied the ex-president.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif phoned former President and Co-Chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on Friday and invited him for a lunch in Raiwind.
The two major political parties of the country, Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan People’s Party have made frequent contacts during the last few days. In the latest event, PM Nawaz Sharif phoned Asif Zardari to invite him for a lunch at Sharif’s residence in Raiwind.
PPP leader Rehman Malik has warned that the crisis must get resolved or the situation may lead us all to the path of collision. He said that Asif Zardari can play his role in diffusing the political tension.
