USA: Curfew defiant protesters surround looted gas station in Ferguson

Protesters remained defiant throughout Monday's early hours as they surrounded a looted gas station during curfew time in Ferguson. At least seven people were arrested Sunday, two hours before the second night of curfew was bound to start, with one person ending up critically wounded following clashes between police and protesters. As curfew came in effect, riot police used tear gas and fired rubber bullets against the protesters that refused to disperse.
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon imposed a curfew on Sunday amid unrest in Ferguson triggered by the August 9 shooting of unarmed African-American teenager Michael Brown by white police officer, Darren Wilson. The curfew is to continue on Sunday evening and Monday morning.
The latest violence comes after more than 2,000 people attended a service for Michael Brown that lasted for roughly two hours at the Greater Grace Church in Ferguson, listening to speakers including Reverend Al Sharpton, Michael Brown's family, civil rights lawyer Benjamin L. Crump, Martin Luther King III, among others. Following the service, crowds rallied outside the church.
