Masala entertainers have always been applauded and I don’t think I need to give you evidences to prove the same. But then, when it comes to getting sequels to the same, not all of them work! So has Ajay Devgn’s attempt with Singham Returns, pleased for all the love? Well, kind off yes…Like it has done justice to Rohit Shetty’s kind of action with a lot more than expected…Okay, stop, stop! Let me not break the ice all at once…here’s a quick review on Singham Returns that made its way, this Independence Day!
Firstly, a quick brush up through the film’s plot! Singham Returns' carry forwards the story of D.C.P Bajirao Singham from its prequel! But moving over Goa, this time, he is seen looking after the law and order of Mumbai. He is supported by many, including political leader Guruji. But sadly, Guruji gets assassinated in front of Singham and here begins a new story of revenge and fight for justice! Introducing Amol Gupte, what happens next is what the entire film is all about.
Now as per the genre and story, Singham Returns leads to a decent stretch with some extremely power packed action in the busy streets of Mumbai! Like really…Rohit Shetty has put in some of his best inputs by picturizing Ajay Devgn in one of the coolest of avatars! From dialogues to giving away those enthralling vibes, the film totally manages to keep you hooked over our Dumdaar, Bajirao Singham! But now, what equally goes for a toss in this one is Kareena’s role and Amol Gupte’s weak dialoguebaazi…Not worth the switch of leads…Coming to the performances, while Ajay shoots up as a stunner and gives out a brilliant performance, Kareena merely dolls up to look gorgeous and signs off as an eye candy…no chemistry-no nothing! And others including Amol Gupte and Anumpam Kher are just passable on their part.
To sum it up, Singham Returns might not impress as great as its prequel but definitely has a lot of addition to its action that might trigger your watch to some gripping experience! So watch it, if you love Ajay and yes, we missed you Prakash Raj!
On the rating scale, we at Bollywood Uncut give it 2.5 stars on 5!
