Robin Williams was sober and suffering from early stages of Parkinson's disease as well as anxiety and depression at the time of his apparent suicide - this according to a statement released by the actor's wife. Susan Schneider said the actor "was not yet ready to share publicly" his struggles with Parkinson's. Williams had been open about his struggles with alcohol and had recently gone to a Minnesota rehabilitation center this summer to work on his sobriety.

British police have searched the apartment of Cliff Richard, one of the country's best known entertainers, in relation to allegations of a historical sexual offense involving an underage boy. Police said they were searching his property after receiving "an allegation of a sexual nature dating back to the 1980s." Richard issued a statement saying the allegation was "completely false."
