Lok Kala Manch presents Divine Inspiration, a Kuchipudi recital by Kumari Sree Veena Mani at Vasuki Auditorium, New Delhi.

Kuchipudi as a technique goes back to the natya shatra - the science of dramaturgy written by sage Bharata as earlier as the second century BCE. In the process of choreography, intricacies and rules pretaining to use of hastas i.e. had gestures, padakarmas natya shastra are kept in mind. Involving nritta or pure feet movements, Natya or the drama where a story is explained and Nritya which is a combination of pure dance and story narration, the Kuchipudi repertoire has it all. In this recital, Sree Veena Mani aims at showcasing some of the facets of the dance form i.e. foot movements, and karanas - graceful movements mention in the Vani Ki Vadanam.

Raagam : Ragamalika, this is a invocatory item dedicated to the goddess of Arts and Learning, Goddess Saraswati, and eulogises the Goddess in all her forms. It also welcomes the audience to watch her recital.Lyrics, composing, and choreography are rendered by Guru Smt. Seetha Nagajyothi.
