Longmai village in Tamenglong, Manipur, India. Villagers return from the church on the hill and head back to the village. Children wear their Sunday best and walk out with their friends, their family in tow. A villager carries a bundle of clothes on her head. Some of the women wear mekhala / mekhla / mekhela warp-around skirts.

Tamenglong district is one of the nine districts of Manipur state in north-eastern India.

Tamenlong is bounded by Nagaland state on the north, by Senapati district on the north and east, by Churchandpur district on the south and by Imphal West district and Assam state on the west. Tamenglong town is the capital of this district. The district occupies an area of 4391 km.
