Clearwater, Florida police approached a car they’d pulled over and quickly noticed that there was a pot plant hanging out of its window.
They flagged the vehicle down based on suspicious activity, but not that kind.
The car had been riding around without its headlights on in an area where a burglary had been reported.
Of course, after seeing the marijuana leaves they had to investigate the matter at hand.
Two young men were inside the car, as were several potted plants that were not, as an officer noted, “…the kind from the local home supplies store…”
The passenger said that they belonged to someone else.
He also offered that they’d been taken from their owner as the result of a failure to pay a 100-dollar drug debt.
Both of the boys were arrested and charged with manufacturing of marijuana.
There may be more charges filed after the state attorney’s office has completed its investigation.
When the Clearwater Police Department reported the happening on their Facebook page they began the post with, “From the you-can't-make-this-stuff-up department:…”
