Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem has won the silver medal in the Common Wealth Games 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland. Number of medals won by Pakistan in the event has risen to four with this medal.
Pakistani boxer won the medal in the 52 kilograms (flyweight) category. He was beaten by Australian boxer Andrew Maloney in the final.
Both the boxers landed some brilliant punches on each other during the three-round match. Australian boxer started off aggressively and took the lead on points table during the first two rounds.
National boxer Muhammad Waseem made a brilliant comeback during the final round by landing some strong punches on Australian boxer.
Despite brilliant performance and lead in the third round, Muhammad Waseem ended up as a loser in the match. There was only a minor difference in the points but it was enough to win Australian boxer a Gold Medal in the event.
Muhammad Waseem looked disappointed at the result but nonetheless added a precious silver medal in Pakistan’s medal count.
