Maa Durga the supreme goddess and embodiment of feminine and creative energy. She is worshiped in nine different forms and together is known as Nav Durga. She is the Divine Mother who protects the Universe.

Kushmanda
The 4th night begins the worship of Meri Maiya Kushmanda, possessed of eight arms, holding weapons and a mala or rosary. Her aura and illumination of body is like Sun itself. She illuminates all the ten directions. All the bodies and beings of Universe derive power from her. As has eight arms, so she is also known as Ashtbhuja Devi (meaning Devi with eight arms). Seven of which are holding different types of weapons and a Rosary is in her right hand. She seems brilliant riding on a Lion.
