The event was kicked off by words from former astronaut and current NASA Administrator Charles Bolden.
Throughout the talks many tipped their hats to the amazing advances in technology and credited the developments for their current hopeful outlook.
The Kepler telescope was praised for the discoveries it’s already enabled.
Also mentioned were the high hopes the agency has for its James Webb Space Telescope scheduled to be launched in 2018.
It, they say, will be a great tool in their searches as it will have the ability to help identify which, if any, planets in its range have the right chemical fingerprint.
