Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that the government is trying to make the Independence Day (August 14) as controversial on the basis of political differences. He said that the PML-N government should not set the tradition of taking the Army Chief to D-Ckowk.

Chudhry Shujaat suggested that the political matters should be addressed in a political way. He said the military parade used to be held every year on March 23 and the main ceremony of Independence Day outside the Parliament that was shifted to Convention Centre in 2004.

The PM-Q chief said that the inclusion of military parade in the Independence Day ceremony during present situation was a severe mistake.

Earlier, the core committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) decided to hold long march on the scheduled date. The march will head towards Islamabad through G.T.Road under the command of PTI chief Imran Khan on August 14.
