Andres Amador is an earthscape artist, which means he has a very tough job of making nature’s untouched beauty even more stunning.
A talented San Francisco based artist uses beach sand as his canvas. Instead of utilizing a paint brush, he picks up a rake to carve out his designs.
Andres Amador is an "earthscape artist," which means he uses nature’s untouched beauty and makes it even more stunning.
His art projects typically features beautiful geometric patterns that require tedious concentration and hard work. In the end, the completed artworks are eventually washed away by the tide, but to the artist, it only means he’ll have a blank slate to work with in the future.
He puts copious amounts of time into his art. Due to the size of his pieces, he can't rely solely on his eyesight to see how the design is coming together. Amador will mount a camera to a quadcopter, which hovers over the sand and takes photos of his progress.
42-year-old Amador commented, “I don't think I am doing some monumental thing for humanity. But I think that in a small way, I am contributing to the happiness of people who experience it and it does something for them.”
