An American Antares rocket successfully lifted off today, July 13th 2014 at 16:52 UTC from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia carrying the 3rd Cygnus Spacecraft into orbit. Cygnus for the CRS-2 mission is carrying around 3,300 pounds of supplies for the International Space Station.
This will be the 4th launch of the Antares rocket since April 21st 2013 and the 3rd launch of the Cygnus spacecraft since September 18th 2013. The rocket is flying in the 120 configuration, the second flight so far. The next planned flight will use the 130 configuration which will see a larger second stage to carry heavier payloads.
