An Australian national with suspected links to foreign Islamist militants is arrested by police in the Philippines.

SWAT teams with Australian Federal Police surprised Robert Cerantonio -- a Muslim convert -- at his apartment near the airport.

Police said he arrived in the Philippines in early February and began recruiting for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

He also allegedly urged Philippine Muslims to support conflicts in Iraq and Syria using social media sites.
