In this article I'm going to share the top cataracts symptoms and some ideas on preventing this health problem. Picture light hitting your eye going through it and then reaching an area where it's processed and sent to the brain to create images.

What if instead of light passing directly through the eye something blocked the light? If this happened depending on how big the obstacle was, light would be redirected and wouldn't reach its intended destination creating vision problems. This is what happens with a cataract.

The top warning sign of a cataract is that instead of having clear vision a person's eye sight is more cloudy. Almost like looking through a fogged up window or a blurry car mirror.

Another sign of this health problem is a sensitivity to light. Sure everyone is a little sensitive to a bright flashlight beaming in their face, but with cataracts it's worse. This also makes it more difficult to drive at night time when there are bright lights.

A person with cataracts can also have the lenses of their eyes change to a yellow or brownish color. Additional this might add some brownish tinge to their vision. This color may be mild at first, but as it progresses a person could have trouble seeing other colors such as blues or purples.

Next as light goes around the object that is blocking it can you guess what else could pop up in someone's vision? I will give you hint it can make driving at night more difficult. Yep, halos could form around lights, which sometimes I see when I first wake up.

Lastly a person could experience having a difficult time seeing objects in the distance as well as seeing two or more of the same image. In a nutshell if you begin to notice trouble with your vision it's probably best to get an eye exam.

To prevent this vision problem a person could take lycopene. A study was done at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. Scientists took a group of rats and split them into two groups.

One group received an injection of lycopene and the second didn't. Then researchers injected a solution that created cataracts into the rats. The conclusion was that only 9% of rats that had lycopene experienced cataracts compared to 83% of the group that didn't take lycopene.

A second supplement that can help is carnosine. In a study published by the American Chemical Society scientist again took a group of rats. Some were injected with carnosine and some were not.

Then can you guess what happened? Yep, the scientists injected a solution that created cataracts. The result was that the group of rats that had carnosine experienced 50 to 60% less cloudiness in their vision.

Supplements and alternative medicine can be confusing and even harmful. Make things really simple and give your body a HUGE edge by viewing a free video guide I created at http://utahtexans.com/.
