Suspected mastermind of US consulate raid in Benghazi in court

The man suspected of leading the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi in 2012 has appeared in a US court.
Ahmed Abu Khattala, arrested by US forces in June, pleaded not guilty to a number of terrorism charges.
Khattala told the Washington court that he was in Benghazi at the time of the raid, but did not take part.
Witnesses claim otherwise.
The US ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens was killed in the attack along with three others.
Khattala was brought to court from a US Navy battleship, where he has been held since his capture two weeks ago.
He is charged with providing material support for a terrorist attack, killing on a federal facility, and damaging US property by fire and explosives, which resulted in death.
Khattala is due back in court on July 8.
