Chris Lane - It is better for a long haired blind man to have a hair cut now rather than later

This dusty topographical globe had incised lines that flowed
Downwards from the axis pole in curls of random rows
And a broken line delineated a fragmented jagged nose

From the equator outwards
A broad smile reached the tropics
Yet undisturbed lay the dust
In the place of eyes or sockets

This dusty topographical globe
In its expression seemed so blind
And did not represent regional divisions
Or disputed borderlines

Feather art of a sort I thought
And surely it is better
For a long haired blind man
To have a hair cut now rather than later -
So I spun the globe in various arcs aligned with the feather
