With the rains pouring in heavily, Nissan still had its Sunny side up!
About to bring Sunny facelift soon to India, Nissan invited us to get our hands onto its new sedan and reveal the moment of truth before it reaches dealerships.
Exteriors:
Cosmetically, the Sunny facelift is adorned with numbers of changes on outer, where the first one to grab attention is ‘Teana-based headlamps’. Headlamps are drawn deep into the bumpers, and the more radical front grille compliments it. Turning the car around to its rear, the black splitter cuts off the bulky 490-liter boot into a ‘finely positioned element’. The new tail lamps, chrome encircling around fog lamps, and new set of alloys on higher trims are some of the other changes. “The chromed window framing on XV variant is eye-catcher of the lot”.
Interiors:
Inside the cabin, the first thing to get noticed is the Teana-inspired new steering wheel with mounted controls. In fact, the 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth is drawn from Micra, which is not bad at all with its black Piano finish. The rear parking camera screen, chrome-lined dials and leather-wrapped steering also deserve a tint of attention. Higher variants gets leather seats and leather covered gear knob, so, the overall package at the driver’s seat is not bad for the new Sunny.
Whereas, the rear passenger seats has acres of legroom and shoulder room pronouncing the roomier and airy feel to the car. The beige interiors act as an icing on the cake to them.
Engine Specifications:
Engine specifications are the same as it was on the outgoing model. The 1.5-liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel, with CVT transmission given only on the petrol variant can be found going their duty dauntingly. Hence, the drive and handling experience is also the same as of the existing model.
Overview:
Nissan Sunny facelift looks to be a good competitor in the market against the new Honda City and its likes. Prices of the Sunny facelift are said to be Rs 30-40 thousand costlier than the previous version at the time of launch. And also, Sunny is most preferred to be driven by the chauffeurs; so while making choice at the showrooms, do remember, Nissan Sunny isn’t a Car, it’s a Caaaaaarrrrr!!!.
