I Will Hold Contractors In Mississauga Accountable For Being Late on Projects

Wouldn't it be great if we could all do absolutely nothing and get paid for it? Wouldn't it be great if we could do 1/10th of our job at 1/10th the speed we need to and still get paid for? The answer to both questions is a resounding NO because nothing would ever get achieved if that is how we lived. The private sector which surely be out of business in no time flat if it allowed its staff and suppliers to adopt that mantra. What we have happening in Mississauga is that contractors are not being policed as they work, and the contracts that the city is signing do not protect the city.

What am I talking about?

I am talking about the fact there are no clear-cut deadlines that contractors need to meet during these projects, yet they are still being paid in full.

I am going to run Mississauga like a business. That means when a company is hired to do a job there will be very strict deadlines on that job. If the contractor or construction company is unable to meet their goal, they will be fined for everyday that they're late.

American municipalities that adopt this way of thinking get their projects completed very quickly. We'll do it that way because I despise the idea that any city in Canada in this, the third millennium could possibly take more than two years to complete anything.

Things are going to be built fast in Mississauga, but only if you vote for me, Kevin Jackal Johnston for mayor of Mississauga.
