Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Thursday lodged a First Information Report (FIR) over Model Town tragedy -- that killed nine and injured dozens – at Faisal Town Police Station in Lahore naming Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) central leadership, federal and provincial ministers and Lahore police’s leadership, Dunya News reported.
According to details, PAT president Dr Raheeq Abbasi reached the police station along with Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief Hamid Raza, Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PMLQ)’s leader Dr Khalid Ranjha and Senator Kamil Ali.
The FIR was filed on behalf of Director Administration Minhaj-ul-Quran Jawad Hamid.
The FIR submits that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Railway Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pervaiz Rasheed, Abid Sher Ali and Chaudhry Nisar ordered Punjab police to demolish PAT chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s residence and Minhaj-ul-Quran institution after prior planning.
It maintains that Director Inspector General (DIG) and SP Model Town had given direct orders to DSP Model Town and SHO Model Town to demolish Mihaj-ul-Quran’s central secretariat with the help of heavy contingent.
The FIR further noted that Shahbaz Sharif’s ‘beloved’ Gullu Butt also stood there smashing vehicles’ windscreens and vandalizing property with police’s blessing and praises.
It added that the rulers are afraid of PAT chief Tahir-ul-Qadri’s return to Pakistan, pleading a case be registered against nominated individuals and justice be provided.
