Remains of a new species of dinosaur have been found by scientists working in Montana and Alberta, Canada. The newly discovered species has been named Mercuriceratops Gemini, because the bone structure of the horned dinosaur’s head is wing-shaped like the helmet worn by the Roman god Mercury, and the fact that remains of two similar specimens were discovered at around the same time in reference to the Gemini twins.

Inspite of all the research, we still have much to learn about dinosaurs.

“If you were a human teenager during the 1950s, you would have got a very large car with these big fins off the back of it. If you’re a horned dinosaur during the Cretaceous, you’re only option is to actually modify that large frill on the back of your skull so if you can add an extra wing or an extra frill on the side of that, make yourself even more elaborate and ornate than your buddies are, chances are you’re going to have the best pick of the herd.” [Via Cleveland Museum of Natural History]

Experts say that based on the evidence, the dinosaur was around 20 feet long and weighed over two tons when it roamed the Earth close to 77 million years ago.
