Recently a friend took me to a place that was the great outdoors. No concrete, just all nature. It was done as a surprise to me. She is a dear dear friend!

Ripples of time washed over me.
Yesteryear flooded back.
Feeling things I hadn't, set me free.
Oh how I hadn't kept track.

Miles of memories that had escaped so long ago,
came in every mile outside the city walls.
Waves rushed to, and fro.
Just like the wilderness; it always calls.

God's touch was in your dear laughs.
Oh the company He did let me keep that day.
In memory of my birth so many years past.
It could not have been in a better way.

Ponds, and cardinals, scamper in sweet refrain.
Trees, not concrete, oh what a wonderful thing.
Mingled in thoughts of your friendship ease my pain.
My spirit truly continues to sing.

A day among many as precious as my children's birth,
will not be one to forget.
There is no measure for what it's worth.
In my thoughts forever set.

Spilling into treasures that time cannot bring to disrepair.
Only love could have brought to me that day.
Inner knowing of a heart that cares.
Miles of Memories are here to stay!
