Edwina Reizer - Another Day of Rain

I woke up today to another day of rain.
I wonder how long it shall remain?
It soaks into the ground of red clay.
It collects into rivulets that don’t drain away.
The birds love it as they wash their wings.
They still warble songs they sing.
The children don’t mind it for in their eyes
They see beyond the clouds in the skies.
But me, ah me, I am a lover of sun
When everything’s bright everything’s one
wonderful day that I hope will stay.
But Mother Nature has her way with me.
She’ll send more rain diabolically.
