My heart beats
slowly, almost not
at all. The blood
in my veins is
gelatinous, thick
and syrupy,
barely pumping.
then, like a waterfall
rushing over a cliff,
the dam breaks.
Caffeine tears to my
core, electrifying my
nerves and awakening
the senses.
