Toby wandered the barren streets angry for an acid high. His dilated pupils swirled with opalescent black/mad laughter
His skin crawled with corporeal images; lamp posts, ash cans, dead horses secreting oily blood, vagrants bumming nickels and smoking stale parliament butts, bushes bearing placentas and forsythias, fleshy pink lips caressing one another smelling of whiskey adjacent from drunken billiard parlors, hymeneal voodoo Santeria warlocks banter in Etruscan. LSD was indeed a commodity (… as a distorted Negro angel ate a cricket in the golden dawn…) he wandered through the insect streets desperate for blue unicorns and the round perky breast of jersey girl-soothsayers. He looked up at a glycerin sky so dense with white air; he began to bleed from his ocular cavities like an oedipal antichrist and ate pound cake and espresso black as night surreptitiously commiserating about the scorching heat of a feinting gypsy. The faint odor of starlight and dreams surrounded the subway tunnel; a boy waltzes by on a Razor scooter across the overpass walkway as the shuffling dunes of beaches roll by beneath a twinkling bed of icicle stars (sporadic precipitation drizzles down deadwood crafted Cadillac windshields as a tittering toddler draws a heart in the condensation, bereft of woes) massive piles of eroding blackish-pink protoplasm wallow in the corpulent landfills of Newark; the foreign grimace of Venus winks with an illusionary glass halo of gold…(bastard angels and handsome demigods frolic in verdant meadows of butterfly wings kissing, and cuddling and dancing in a hemoglobin rain) … the mute terror of the harlequins in the velvet watchtower screaming silently like dogs
