In the twinkling of my eye life fly’ by
Unaware of what the stands
Beyond the horizon
Every day with new promises,
New hopes and different uncertainties
Hoping at least new promises are fulfilled.

The pain a broken promise ends in,
Sometimes seems unbearable.
When you’re all alone,
It’s the promises that keep you going.

Walking alone on the thorny beds of life
Holding on to the pain
Of broken promises, as they strengthen me.
Holding on the untarnished promises,
Embellished hopes and renewed strength
I tread along in solitude.
