Shalom Freedman - I Laugh At Who I Am

I sing to myself
The world is my dream
And I am happy with my own nonsense-

I am old now
I need not climb mountains
But I never was able to anyway-

The world is a big place
Bigger than me and my mind
I don’t mind if it doesn’t understand me-

Let me go singing to my grave
This I pray to God
Let me at least have that
That I not be a terrible burden to those I love
That I not die in incoherence-

But that I go singing quietly
With Gratitude to God and so many good people
For all the Blessings and Love
I have had in my life.
