Zaheed Patel - Robin Hood Prince amongst thieves

The place lays phased like a warrior slayed
Engraved into history with his sword still raised
Layers of blood sprayed through the hallways
Praise relays off walls echoing like sunrays

Flash back time; the iniquitous attack but no impact.
Cracked walls burnt black like a kingdom sacked
Memories and artefacts attacked yet still intact
Melodies wrapped in glass shatter with the impact

Sunrays illuminate the smoke filled haze
And the blood drenched altar is set ablaze
With a new redolence to scent the place
By those who no longer need to steal or chase

The aftermath, a palace building once standing
No longer erect, dust particles are now dancing
A thin frozen fortress; whose walls are well worn;
From within ransacked overnight bare and forlorn.

Stripped to an cavern empty of any fight
Like a life gone wrong wandering in the twilight
Morning light slips in, sifting through the darkness
And a premature vision of glory spawns a new atlas.

Sown seeds and sacred stepping stones replace; post crusade
New trees cover streets were kings once played
The dirt is now unearthed and the world is yours to foray;
New life has given birth to a generation to pathe the way.
