Jesus was a clever man
someone so filled with wisdom
that people found fear from
his words

If our forefathers had paid more attention
They would have listened
and today we would be living in
harmony

So now we remember the time he was here
and we make a holiday
for more drinking and sin
and few go to Church to praise him
and grow sad for what might have been

But we fools on this earth saw no reason
to follow the man that god sent
for lust crime and freedom of actions
came foremost in a nation hell bent

Now today we pay a price for
our forefathers
The sins of that era fall near
and when Jesus speaks to us
in spirit
it falls on a blind man's deaf ear
