Handery Masieh, a member of the Balochistan Assembly, was shot dead in Quetta on Saturday, Dunya News reported.
According to details, Handery Masih’s personal security guard sprayed bullets on him outside his residence in Nawa Killi area of Quetta.
He was shifted to FC Hospital where he could not survive.
Minority MPA Handery Masieh belonged to National Party. He was elected in the Balochistan Assembly on the reserved seat for minorities from NM-65 constituency.
Handery Masieh’s nephew was also injured in the shooting incident.
According to sources, the security guard identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin has been arrested. He was serving the Baloch lawmaker for last 12 years, however, motive behind the attack could not be ascertained as yet.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took notice of the incident and directed the authorities to take stern action against the culprits.
He said it is government’s responsibility to ensure security of the minorities.
