Jane Roberts says that Maslow’s hierarchy
of needs should give the need for meaning
priority; desire for meaning is more essential
than satisfaction of basic needs like shelter
and food – I agree; modern man is living proof
that enhanced living conditions and unlimited
supplies of food have not solved depression
or dissatisfaction, consumption of anti-depressants
and tranquillizers in highly developed countries
is on the increase - because man’s basic need
for meaning has not been addressed, each
little person must create meaning for himself
or blindly accept what religions and science preach –
when the wild world assails me, bombarding
us with bad news and sad predictions for a
new millennium – I turn to esoteric literature,
studying ancient American Codex and Maurice
Cotterel’s Astrogenetic theories; accounts of
the Philadelphia Experiment – because mainstream
science compresses reality into the smallest
entity of depression impossible to imagine
without going totally insane – and I did…
