And it’s times like these
I’m so relieved to release
And have finally found peace
Even if this doesn’t work out
You’ve made me a better person no doubt
I wonder if you know what I’m talking about
I’ve been running numerous times
Instead of TV I’m writing rhymes
I believe you’re to blame for these crimes
My shoes are loose and untied
God has strength and patience supplied
And has taken away much selfish pride
I don’t know what’s going to come
But I know I’ll no longer be a bum
And around you act dumb
If you and I end up as we
Every moment with you I will cherish dearly
Because you really mean that much to me
And if this is really the end
I know I’ve found my best friend
I will thank God for whichever he sends
I pray we both keep open our minds and eyes
Because you never know when God will supply a surprise
But now to my feet I will rise
There’s nothing left to say
I continue to hope and pray
That you’ll come back one day
