His innate nature being stoic and astute
he kept his nose inside gigantic books most days,
but when she tempted him with her forbidden fruit
he first averted with finesse her loving gaze.
He wore a badge beneath his shorts that stated chaste
it was a pledge of sorts but mostly lethargy,
and when he nodded and went down to have a taste
it was the nectar of the Gods and he was free.
