just let me go
I want to see the careening blue
without connections
let me be a single strand of perfect green
wave with the wind
tumble down jagged faces
freeze on the sharpest peaks
float through eye-blue cloudless skies
let rain seep through me
becoming one
leap through the tallest canopies
I want to be found in the hostile white
carried through and eroded by uninhibited strength

just let me go
feel my toes holding in deep ground
feel my arms extending in open air
let me be a single strand of perfect green
an extension of myself
to be the face that endlessly eyes the shores
to lilt and tumble in a stream’s easy wake
float through eye-blue cloudless skies
sail to the ground on a cool purple morning
let me set among rolling hilltops
let my light come beaming through gray
carried through and eroded by uninhibited strength
found
