Dr John Celes - Sonnet: When is My Time to Leave?

The ones I loved, no longer are with me;
The ones I knew are scattered in the globe;
Some ones I hated too have left early;
My frame is getting smaller for my robe!

My kith and kin are busy in their work;
The land I knew has changed a lot with time;
My foes have vanished or have gone berserk;
The modern man has greatly changed the clime!

My years are fleeting rather speedily;
The little ones I knew have grown up tall;
Some souls are saving wealth still, greedily;
Most ears seem deaf to Heaven’s warning call!

The kinds of sins have multiplied on earth;
’Tis sad that many souls might miss the Mirth!
