Liquid pimp and cocktail expert Andy Seymour wants to make sure that you know how to make some fancy cocktails at home. In this week's Behind the Drink, he heads to fellow master mixologist Justin Noel's Williamsburg, Brooklyn, home to see how to recreate cocktail recipes worthy of Noel's Soho bar, 1534. Typical pantry essentials like fruit preserves, honey, lemon and lime are the beginnings of lounge-level cocktails like a fresh, seasonal daiquiri recipe that doesn't require a blender. Or go exotic with a fusion cocktail like the dreamy, creamy gin, yogurt and herbal lassi inspired by Greek and Indian cuisines.
What did you think of this cocktail? Would you give this a shot if you were out at the bars? Would you make this yourself at home and bring it out for parties? If you did, did you like it? Let us know what you think in the comments!
In Behind the Drink, we'll make sure you are properly educated before you hit the town and even if you're not really into the bar scene, our drinks expert host and professional bartenders will whip you up some recipes and tricks for kicking back with some fancy cocktails at home. Preferably while in a tux watching classic Bond movies and/or reruns of Mad Men.
