JOHNNY COBB - Louisiana's 'Wildlife Gardens'

Through the gates of the 'Wildlife Gardens'
Twenty peacocks will greet your arrival.
If looking for natural solitude
The peace and quiet here has few rivals.

In Terrebonne Parish near Gibson
On the backwaters of the Black Bayou
What lies underneath all this duck-weed
As you glide by in a small canoe?

From the front porch of your rustic cabin
Feed the alligators at your leisure.
Watching herons and egrets flying
Through the canopy is such a pleasure.

Take the trail by the old trappers' cabin.
See snapping turtles, bobcats and wild boar,
Deer, red foxes, gators and nutria.
Repeat this walking tour to see more.

Miss Betty dedicated this site
To the kindest man she'd ever known.
Twenty five years of blood, sweat and tears
Go see how this 'paradise' has grown!
