C Richard Miles - Fairy Frost

Before the dawn, the fairy, Frost, flies free
Amongst the dewy grassblades on the lawn.
She drapes her feathers on each branch and tree
Before the dawn.

As if she were to rule an empire born,
White as the bloom upon the cherry, she
Drifts over gardens with a haughty scorn.

With angel wings she flits, just like Queen Bee,
But, as the blackness of the night is torn
To shreds by sunlight, Fairy Frost must flee
Before the dawn.
