Loraine Lotter - Flying In The Face Of Myself

Shouting at the moon, I’ll pick myself up.
I must have misinterpreted what you call love,
and your tender behavior, it never did last,
‘cause it disappeared quicker than you can say fast.
So I decided to walk alone, fly with one wing,
follow my own footsteps - I‘m doing it for me.
I’ll pull my own weight and wipe my slate clean,
I‘ll rise to my own fame, I’ll fulfill my own dreams.

Your atmosphere lingers wherever I go,
and there’s a bandage on my heart - it covers a hole.
Been wandering ‘round aimlessly since you walked out,
now I’m deliberately flying in the face of myself.

You just passed by, didn’t even look up.
I clearly misunderstood; it never was love.
So I’ll protect myself and I’ll rise above,
‘cause there was nothing that was worth saving us.
And I’ll be looking back, regretting the mistake.
You were the worst decision I had ever made.
‘Cause you’re walking around, carrying yourself
with a grin on your forehead and a smile for a frown.
